Sensing beyond what she can physically see, Laurie creates a depth of atmosphere with a dreamy ethereal style. Lifting the ‘veil’, she looks beyond, bringing forth the juxtaposition of both light and dark into her images. Her self conceptual photography is a way to work with her emotions, moods, dreams, curiosities and sometimes fears. Photography is her third eye sense of capturing the spiritual and soulful side of everything she encounters, both the beauty and the darkness life brings.

Delving into several creative mediums at a young age, Laurie discovered photography was what she connected most intuitively with. The camera became her way of not only expressing how she perceived the physical but also a way to introduce what she could sense and feel. It was the intangible she wanted to capture as well. There was so much beauty to be found in the darkness and so much darkness to be explored with light. It was this mix of beauty and chaos she needed to work with to find sense and meaning.

Laurie invites the viewer to journey outside the body and view with their soul.
